For those who want to mess around and find a way to use Win+D with Rainmeter, below I’m putting out few ideas how theoretically it could be achieved. Note that for each method you may need to have admin access or restart the system. Also I haven’t tried any of the methods myself.
1. In Microsoft’s own utility “Power Toys” in the “Remap Shortcuts” section you can change or disable any hotkey action. Theoretically speaking, after disabling Win+D combination, you can now define it through Rainmeter skin. Hopefully it can work.
2. Perhaps disabling this hotkey in Registry and then using it through the Rainmeter skin may work.

3. Other way may be finding the according group policy and setting it to prevent Win+D activity, then setting this hotkey through the Rainmeter skin.
4. Also, AutoHotKey can/could be used to reassign almost all hotkeys, with exceptions to be Win+L and Ctrl+Alt+Del. But I am not aware about the efficincy or speed of employing this method.
