My specific use-case for this is as an HTPC. There is absolutely no circumstance in which this skin is running and I'm wanting to interact with something else at the same time. Once a program is launched by the skin, game mode activates to unload the skin entirely. So to clarify: I'm fine with a solution that cripples Windows functionality when this skin is loaded, since there is no circumstance in which the skin is loaded at the same time that I may care about said Windows functionality.
